WDIScan is a document and image scanning app for Jira.

Published on the Atlassian Marketplace: WDIScan.

  • Small fix to the paper size selection;
  • Add custom PDF creator, with controls for page rotation and metadata;
  • Major update to all UI components provided by Atlassian to better match Jira’s current UI;
  • Add confirmation alert when closing the WDIScan dialog without saving any files;
  • Rework initial loading state with improvements to loading speed;

Changes to “Classic Scanning”:

  • Unify document and image scanning in a single page, providing a much better user experience;
  • Add support for multi-page image scans (e.g. use an ADF scanner to automatically scan multiple pages as JPG, not just PDF);

  • Add button to quickly download any asset (file);

Major feature: “P2P Scanning and Files”, a new way to scan using a phone or tablet.

  • Connects WDIScan on Jira (desktop) with a phone or tablet, using a local WebRTC connection (peer-to-peer), no app required;
  • Scan documents, images and take photos using the device camera;
  • Three camera modes “Paper”, “Image” and “Photo”;
  • Built-in perspective correction, image enhancements and paper size detection;
  • The resulting files are immediately sent to WDIScan on Jira (desktop).
  • Ability to send any other files from the device (bonus feature);

Scanning using USB and network scanners is now called “Classic Scanning”.

  • Improve network scanner connection dialog and connection flow;
  • Add explicit asset names (and a dialog to rename assets);
  • Add ability to reorder assets;
  • Include timestamp when exporting files to Jira (attaching to issue);
  • Other small fixes;
  • Add scanner test page (for the documentation website);

First WDIScan (Jira Connect app) version.

  • Available from the issue actions menu on Jira.
  • Connects with normal USB and network scanners (Mopria eSCL protocol);
  • Works with flatbed and ADF (automatic document feeder) scanners;
  • Two scanning modes: images (with preview) and documents;
  • Several scanning options, including: resolution, color mode, paper size and other scanner specific options;
  • Create PDFs from the scanned images;
  • Manage the scanned files (assets) and attach them to Jira issues;

WDIScan Connector is a browser extension that allows WDIScan to work with network scanners.

  • Fixed not properly proxying request cache mode;
